A cut above the rest…

Clink hostel is all about reinvention.  Not only have we restored a 200 year old courthouse to create a stylish backpackers Hostel, but we have also set out to change the traditional perception of youth hostels.  With its utterly cool interior, modern facilities and high-tech pod beds, Clink Hostel is a far cry from the generic budget accommodation.

The story… so far

Discover England’s 21st century capital from a 19th century courthouse.  Clink, the Tate Modern of hostels, combines nearly 200 years of history with a cool, functional interior and contemporary design to meet the needs of today’s more discerning traveller.  Built on the grounds of one of London’s first police courts, Clink Hostel is ideally located to discover London’s key attractions.

1837-9:Charles Dickens works here while writing Oliver Twist
1844:Clerkenwell Court moves to 78 King’s Cross Road
1903-6:Rebuilding of Clerkenwell’s Magistrates’ Court
1978:The Clash band are put on trial and found guilty for the infamous pigeon shooting incident
1998:Court is disbanded
2007:Launch of Clink Hostel
